William Gallas reveals how Senderos was always afraid of Didier Drogba

Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba really loved playing against North London rivals, Arsenal.

The Ivorian striker played 15 times for the blues against the Gunners, losing only once while scoring 13 goals against them.

He always enjoyed intimidating the Arsenal defenders and it looked like the Arsenal defender were always afraid to play against him.

One Arsenal defender sure did it and it was Philippe Senderos.

The Switzerland defender was at Arsenal for seven years, and featured in more than 100 games for them but he never managed to prove himself to the Arsenal team and fans and recent comments by his former teammate and defense partner William Gallas will do nothing but further worsen the image of the Swiss defender.

In an interview, Gallas revealed how Senderos, used to panic anytime he was getting ready to face the Chelsea strike.

I knew Philippe Senderos, before a match he would need to talk a lot, you could see that he was sweating, that he was not feeling well, Gallas said.

And unfortunately, when you saw him on the pitch, he lost his playing skills, he did not play well. But against his own teammates, he played better, Gallas added.

It is never a good thing when you are a professional footballer and you are scared to face an opposition player and that’s probably why Senderos’ career at Arsenal was very much below average.

Arsene Wenger brought in the Servette central defender from Switzerland in 2003, and many believed he was going to fill in the shoes of legend, Tony Adams.

He started in a promising way for the team, winning the FA Cup and he got to the Champions League final with Arsenal in his sophomore season at the North London club but too many errors soon began to infiltrate his game and in 2008, he was no longer favored by Arsene wenger.

Why Arsenal want Eric Bailly

Why Arsenal FC want Eric Bailly

Arsenal FC have maintained their success stand so far in the EPL this season after suffering two defeats at the start of the season.

The Gunners could, however, be headed for some challenges in their coming matches.

This is because the Unai Emery led squad will be without two of their key defenders for some time next year.

The players involved are Rob Holding, who is out for the season with a knee injury and Shkodran Mustafi is battling with a hamstring problem which the Gunners are assessing.

This latest development is a big blow on the team as they hope to at least finish in the top four on the EPL table so as to qualify for the next Uefa Champions League.

Arsenal are now linked with moves to sign Man Utd defender and Ivory Coast international, Eric Bailey.

The report hinted that Arsenal can make a move for him the January transfer window.

However, they will face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who are equally interested in Eric Bailey.

Man Utd have disclosed the interest to sell the Ivorian defender and they have placed his transfer fee at the sum of £30 million.

African Star Could Leave Arsenal With Signing Of Bundesliga Player

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny could leave the club during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Elneny could leave as a result of the news that the Gunners are in the hunt for a German Bundesliga midfield star.

Several media reports claim that the Gunners are one of the clubs interested in a move for highly-rated TSG Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri.

His transfer could pave the way for Mohamed Elneny to leave the Emirates Stadium.

ElNeny, 26, has been on the outskirts of the Arsenal first team in the debut season of Spanish tactician Unai Emery in English football.

Unai Emery became the Gunners’ boss in the summer after penning a three-year deal as a replacement for long-serving manager Arsene Wenger.

The former Sevilla and Valencia boss has played the Egyptian international star in cup competitions (Carabao Cup and Europa League) only.

He signed for Arsenal from Swiss side FC Basel in January 2016.

Fellow Premier League side Leicester City are long-term admirers of the Egyptian midfielder and they could make a move for him once he is available.

For the aforementioned Amiri, Arsenal will have to see off North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to sign him.

Amiri is currently out with a foot problem.

Paul Merson predicts a win for Arsenal vs Huddersfield, says this Gunners player will not start

Arsenal will play against Huddersfield on Saturday evening, this comes after the Gunners held down Man Utd to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

Arsenal is currently seated at the fifth spot on the EPL table and are only separated by goal difference from Chelsea, who are seated at the fourth spot.

However, ahead of the match against Huddersfield, former Arsenal star turned football pundit has predicted a win for the Gunners tomorrow evening.

Paul Merson disclosed that Arsenal FC will play against Huddersfield the way they played against Tottenham Hotspur.

He went on to disclose that Arsenal midfielder and German star, Mesut Ozil will miss the match against Huddersfield.

Ozil was not available during Arsenal match against Tottenham Hotspur and Man Utd over a back injury.

Paul Merson said he doesn’t see ‘Unai Emery bringing him back in now as Arsenal will try to play in the same vein as they did against Tottenham and Manchester United.’

He added that Huddersfield were unlucky against Bournemouth and he believes ‘they were unlucky against Brighton with Steve Mounie’s sending off.’

It will be a big challenge for the David Wagner side considering Arsenal top form.

Arsenal Keen On £15m Transfer For Brazilian Attacker

Premier League giants Arsenal are reportedly keen on a multi-million pound swoop on for in-form Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes ahead of the January transfer market.

Wesley Moraes plays for Belgian Jupiler League side Club Bruges and he has emerged as a transfer target for many European clubs.

According to the report from popular English media platform Daily Mirror, Arsenal are ready to make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window next month.

More: Rio Ferdinand name two superior clubs in the English premier league

Wesley Moraes, 22, has grown to become an important player for his club since he joined the Belgians from AS Trencin of Slovakia in January 2016 for just £900,000.

The Brazilian attacker has netted 10 goals in 22 appearances for Club Brugge this season including seven goals in the Belgian top flight.

He has been a consistent performer for his side in both league football and the Champions League.

The Brazilian helped his side qualify for the Europa League via the Champions League route.

Apart from Arsenal, Italian side Fiorentina and Spanish La Liga outfit Valencia are also interested in signing the player.

The Gunners see Wesley Moraes as a possible replacement for the injured Danny Welbeck and a fee of around £15m would be enough for Club Brugge to sanction his move to Arsenal in the New Year.

Jose Mourinho makes silly remarks, says Man Utd Should have won against Arsenal

Man Utd hosted Arsenal at Old Trafford last night and it was not business for the Red Devils as usual.

The Red Devils almost lost to the Gunners last night if not for Jose Mourinho ‘dark art’ of football that saw to it that they managed to escape a defeat.

Man Utd held the Gunners to a 2-2 draw, although one of goals scored by Man Utd was offside, it was not acknowledged.

Despite escaping a defeat, coach Jose Mourinho in a statement has applauded his squad for the commitment and bravery against Arsenal.

”The result is not the result we want, but what can you say?” Mourinho said in a statement with MUTV.

He added that the team played with “Fantastic spirit, fantastic commitment, great intensity, great dynamic, happiness to give absolutely everything, people exhausted at the end of the game, lots of players in difficult circumstances.”

Jose Mourinho hinted that the Red Devils should have won the match, which is a really silly statement to make considering how poor they played last night.

He said, ‘We made two big mistakes for their goals, we had other mistakes that were the mistakes that allowed them to have counter-attack situations.’

Ozil To Man United Transfer Rumours Gather Momentum

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has hugged the headlines for the better part of the last one week after he was unceremoniously dropped for the league clash game at Bournemouth.

Ozil sat on the bench for the entire duration of the game as the Gunners ran out 2-1 winners at the expense of the Cherries.

Since the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner was dropped, the 30-year-old has been heavily linked with Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window.

He had previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford before he decided to put pen to paper on a new contract at Arsenal earlier this year.

The German signed a new three-year contract with the Gunners in February to take him to the end of the 2020/21 season.

Those transfer rumours of a potential move to Manchester United have resurfaced in the last few days in the aftermath of him being dropped for the Bournemouth game.

Mesut Ozil was also absent with a questionable back spasm as Arsenal came from behind to beat North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 courtesy three second half goals in their Premier League clash at the weekend.

Apart from Manchester United, Ozil has been linked with other European giants like Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Juventus amongst others.
