Tottenham interested in signing Man United defender who has fall short at the club

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is interested in signing Eric Bailly from Manchester United to the north London club when the transfer window reopen in January, as claimed by Daily Star.

Tottenham will have to go head to head with North London rivals Arsenal who are believed to be interested in signing the outcast Man Utd defender.

Bailly could be on his way out of Old Trafford in January and look for more playing time elsewhere after appearing to have been frozen out by United boss Jose Mourinho.

So far in the season the Ivory Coast defender has started just five games under Mourinho and would likely get more playing time at either London club.

Tottenham Hotspur currently have only Juan Foyth as a back up centre-back, and also they are without Jan Vertonghen who has been out for a while.

The defender (Bailly) was removed before the break in the 3-2 victory over Newcastle, a match in which midfielder Paul Pogba completed the 90 minutes at centre back.

But if any move for him is going happen, United will probably want to recover most of their £30m which they splash on the two seasons ago. But be that as it may, Spurs will continue to be monitoring his situation at Old Trafford.

Man United In £90m World-Record Summer Bid For Napoli Defender

Manchester United are planning a big money bid for one of the best defenders in the world.

Napoli centre back Kalidou Koulibaly has grown to be a key player for his Italian Serie A club since he signed for them from Belgian side Genk.

According to the publication from trusted English media platform The Times, Manchester United are prepared to spend as much as £90m on Koulibaly thus making him the most expensive defender in history.

Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk became the most expensive defender in January 2018 when the Reds paid £75m to seal his transfer from fellow Premier League side Southampton.

Manchester United have not had the best of seasons defensively after conceding 35 goals in 26 Premier League games.

The three-time European champions have one of the worst defensive records in the top half of the Premier League with just six clean sheets to show for their troubles.

Kalidou Koulibaly has spoken about the transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club in the summer.

The 27-year-old told Rai Sport that he’s flattered with the interest of clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) before adding that his focus is on his performances for Napoli.

“It’s a chance for anyone who plays, Alexis, Romelu, Chongy or Angel. Anthony and Jesse have done really well for us, they’re vital but then again with Rom and Alexis, they’ve got different skill sets and will be able to show what they can do. So we need to gel a team together for Monday.”

Is this the One problem stopping Zinedine Zidane from moving to Chelsea or Man Utd?

Is this the One problem stopping Zinedine Zidane from moving to Chelsea or Man Utd?

France international, Zinedine Zidane has been out of job since he unexpectedly resigned from Real Madrid after leading them to three victories in the UCL.

He has however been linked with moves to Man Utd where he is expected to be their permanent coach at the end of the season.

And recently he has been linked with a move to Chelsea where he is expected to replace Maurizio Sarri if things do not improve under the Italian.

However, sports pundit, Julien Laurens in a recent statement disclosed that Zidane inability to express himself in English language will be a big barrier for him.

“I think we need to see it from his point of view in the sense that would this be a project that interests him?” Laurens said on ESPN FC.

“I think the idea of coaching one of the big clubs in the Premier League of course is appealing to him.

“There’s a few issues there, the language, and we talked about it before when he was linked with Manchester United as well.

“Zinedine Zidane is a manager who works a lot on man-management. They’re not all like this but he is very much like this.

“And the language, he doesn’t speak a word of English, I think he would see it as a problem to get his message across to the players.

“But also the way he man-manages all his players, all his dressing room to make everybody feel important, for example like he did in Madrid. That would be an issue.

“The fact that he won’t like the lack of stability at Chelsea with managers coming in and coming out very regularly – two years for [Antonio] Conte, maybe even less for Sarri.

“That’s something he doesn’t like and enjoy, that kind of spirit.

“So there are a lot of things I am not sure he will be so keen on.

“However, Chelsea are a huge club and he will obviously be interested in a big club and the Premier League is a league that interests him very much.”

Kalidou Koulibaly spoke to Rai Sport about those transfer reports as he said that he’s flattered with the interest from many clubs.

Koulibaly further said that his focus is to continue to do well for his Italian Serie A side.

The 27-year-old has grown to be a key player for Napoli since he joined the club from Belgian top flight club Genk.

Kalidou Koulibaly is widely regarded as one of the best centre backs in world football and he has been the subject of interest from English top flight sides like Chelsea and Manchester United.

Recent reports claim that Manchester United had two bids rejected for him towards the end of last year.

The player was linked with Chelsea last summer when Maurizio Sarri replaced compatriot Antonio Conte as the Blues manager.

Several Chelsea fans had thought that Kalidou Koulibaly will follow Italian tactician Sarri to London just like Jorginho who signed for the Blues in a £57m deal at the start of the season but he eventually stayed with Napoli for this campaign.

Man Utd Eyeing Trippier Swoop THIS Summer

Three-time European champions Manchester United are reportedly plotting a major raid on one of their rivals in the Premier League.

According to the publication from popular English media outlet Daily Express, the Red Devils could raid North London giants Tottenham Hotspur in a bid to address the problematic right-back position in the team.

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier could be the answer to the aforementioned problem in the Manchester United team.

Trippier, 28, was part of the Three Lions of England team that surprised many football stakeholders by producing their best World Cup finish in 28 years last summer.

England reached the semifinal of a FIFA World Cup tournament for the first time since the 1990 edition before they were beaten by Croatia on penalties with Trippier scoring a magnificent freekick.

The one-time world champions settled for fourth spot via a 2-0 loss to Belgium in the 3rd/4th place playoff.

Kieran Trippier is the undisputed first choice at Premier League title chasers Tottenham Hotspur and he would be a fantastic addition to the Manchester United squad lacking a quality right-back.

Ashley Young is the regular right-back at Manchester United but the former Watford and Aston Villa player has seen better days, while Young Portuguese fullback is deemed too inexperienced for the position on a consistent basis.

Man Utd Missed Out On Premier League Defender For One Reason

Manchester United could have signed highly rated Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles in the last transfer window according to the sources close to popular media outlet ESPN.

It was revealed that the 25-year-old was on the list of the transfer targets at Manchester United while former manager Jose Mourinho was still at the club.

Italian Serie A stars like Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) and Milan Skriniar (Inter Milan) were the top targets on the said transfer list but Lascelles was also on it.

Jamal Lascelles is a key player for the Magpies having joined the Northeast club from hometown team Nottingham Forest in 2014.

The English centre back signed for Newcastle United from the former European champions alongside compatriot and shot stopper Karl Darlow.

He was named the Newcastle United captain shortly after the Magpies suffered relegation from the Premier League in 2016.

Jamaal Lascelles led his team back to the English top flight at the start of last season before helping the Magpies to a top-10 finish at the end of the league campaign.

He recently signed a new contract at Newcastle United until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Lascelles has played 22 times for Newcastle United in the Premier League this season.

FA Cup: Man Utd vs Chelsea – Michael Owen gives his prediction

Chelsea and Man Utd will go head to head in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.

While Chelsea were able to win Malmo in the UEL this week, Man Utd were defeated for the first time since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by Paris Saint Germain PSG in the UCL.

For this reason, the match is a big one for both team and owing to the fact that there wouldn’t be a second leg.

However, Micheal Owen in a statement with Betvictor has given his prediction.

He said, “It has not been a great couple of days for either team with Chelsea hit for six by Manchester City on Sunday before United were brought back down to earth with a bang against PSG in the Champions League 1st leg earlier in the week.

The game is a repeat, of course, of last season’s final which Chelsea won 1-0 and the Blues have actually beaten United on the last four occasions they have met in the competition.

Both clubs have a rich history in the competition and Chelsea are looking to reach the last eight for the fourth season in a row – United are looking to reach the quarterfinals for the 5th season on the spin.

United have only won two of their last 22 away games at Chelsea in all competitions, but I feel the game will go to extra-time and possibly penalties before we find a winner. ”

Michael’s prediction: Chelsea 2 – 2 Manchester United

Man Utd wouldn’t panic – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on match vs Chelsea

Man Utd suffered their first defeat under their interim coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the game against Paris Saint Germain PSG in the UCL this week.

Prior to the defeat to PSG, Man Utd have played 11 games undefeated and have managed to make it back to the top four on the EPL table as they are now seated at the fourth spot on the EPL table.

The Red Devils will return to action on Monday night in the FA Cup fifth round, where they will challenge Chelsea.

Man Utd coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a recent statement has said his side will not panic during the game against Chelsea because of the defeat PSG.

“We still want to impose ourselves on games,” said Solskjaer.

“You don’t panic because you have lost a game – it doesn’t change the mindset. We need to keep working on the way we want to play.”

Man Utd have greatly transformed under the Norwegian and it would be a hard game for Chelsea who have been very inconsistent this season.

Both sides will however be hoping to win as the match would only be played in a first leg.

Real Madrid Keen On Summer Transfer For Man Utd Striker

European champions Real Madrid are said to monitoring striker Romelu Lukaku at Premier League giants with the hope of making a summer move for the Belgian international player.

Football London claim that Real Madrid are secretly preparing a bid for Romelu Lukaku whose long-term future is still in doubt at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be keeping his cards close to his chest on transfers to avoid a bidding war for his targets which include Belgian attacker Romelu Lukaku.

The 25-year-old was part of the Belgium team that posted their best result at a FIFA World Cup tournament during the last edition in Russia.

Romelu Lukaku was the Red Devils’ topscorer with four goals as they finished third at the end of the tournament.

He signed for Manchester United from Everton in a deal worth £75m at the start of last season thus making him the second most expensive transfer behind pal and buddy Paul Pogba.

Lukaku was the main striker at Manchester United until this season.

He has not had the best of seasons in this campaign and that promoted former manager Jose Mourinho to drop him from the starting XI at the expense of Marcus Rashford.
