The effect of Ronaldo’s red card on the football world

You’ll hardly see people feel pity for a person of Cristiano Ronaldo’s caliber, never, because how can you feel sorry for someone who has everything you can ever think of in life.

When you play so well to the extent that you are regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time, having a model like body structure, enough money to afford the most luxurious things in life, anything you can think of, that kind of person does not know anything about pity.

When he was leaving the Valencia stadium while shedding heavy tears in his first game for Juventus in the Champions League, it was one of the very few times that fans and viewers all over the world would feel pity for the star.

And as the Juventus star was shown what was adjudged as a harsh red card in the first half of his team’s 2-0 win on the road, the football crowd also felt cheated and sad.

It happened just before the half hour mark, when Ronaldo had a slight contact with Valencia’s Murillo, and Murillo made the most of the situation. Ronaldo reacted with a bit if anger and tried to hit Murillo’s head, pulling his hair for a fraction of a second.

It wasn’t a malicious act, it was not something that would result to an injury, and it is definitely not something that deserved a red card from the referee.

As a result of this, one of the most anticipated matches in world football may not be as interesting as people expect it to be.

Next month, Juventus will be going to Old Trafford to face United in a clash with the team that Ronaldo became popular known as one of the best players in football, became a well known name globally, won titles and many individual accolades before he left to Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
