Sarri Believes Forward Can Win The Ballon D’Or At Chelsea

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has thrown his weight behind star player Eden Hazard for the Ballon d’or award as he revealed that the Belgian international forward can win it at the club.

The Italian tactician was fielding questions from reporters about numerous reports linking Hazard with a move to Champions League winners Real Madrid.

The former Lille player had previously talked about the need to secure a move to Spain with European champions Real Madrid so as to realise his ambition of winning the Ballon d’or.

It’s widely believed that players in Spain have a better chance of winning the award than those from the other major European leagues and this is supported by the fact that the last ten award winners have come from the country.

Eden Hazard was linked with a transfer to Real Madrid throughout the summer as a potential replacement for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club for Italian champions in a club-record deal worth at least €100m.

This was after a disappointing season under ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte preceded a very good outing at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Eden Hazard was hugely influential as he helped Belgium to their best ever World Cup result which was a third place finish.
