‘Only loan transfers in January’ – Unai Emery confirms

While various reports had made it known that Arsenal will sign some players based on their limited budget, well it has turned out that they will not be signing any player permanently that is if they will sign at all in the ongoing January transfer window.

Arsenal in a new statement via their coach, Unai Emery has revealed their plans for the winter transfer window.

According to Unai Emery, Arsenal will not be signing any player permanently as he stressed that it will only be loan transfers in January.

He added that any player they will sign at this moment will be for a short term basis.

This latest development is a set back for Arsenal as this means they might no longer be able to sign Denis Suarez from Barcelona.

Unai Emery had hoped to reunite with the youngster, who he trained at Sevilla.

This is because it is uncertain if Barca will accede to Suarez leaving on a loan basis.

Another player Arsenal might miss out on is Ever Banega, who Unai Emery also trained at Sevilla.

The manager insisted he doesn’t know what Arsenal are planning at the moment but they are working it out.

But despite the fact that Chelsea have dropped out of the race, Arsenal are still facing a stern battle from Roma.

According to a report by Daily Star, Arsenal are ready to pay the sum of £35 million for Cengiz Under while Roma want £45 million for the 21-year-old player.

The North London club are unlikely to meet up with Roma’s new demand and may go ahead to drop interest in Cengiz Under, even though they need a winger.
