Liverpool set a new record after keeping seven straight wins in a season

The Reds have been able to keep a clean sheet in all their seven matches this season which include 6 wins in the English Premier league and one win in the Uefa Champions League.

Today, Man United defeated Southampton at Anfield with a 3 to nothing scoreboard.

This is the third time in history that the Reds will win their six matches in the English Premier League, with the two other seasons been 1978/79, 1990/1991.

Liverpool has also set a record of been unbeaten in their 24 marches at Anfield winning 16 and drawing 8.

Also, the Reds are currently leading on the English Premier League table and are likely to be joined by Chelsea if the latter wins their match against West Ham on Sunday.

Coach Klopp has changed the Liverpool squad and it would not be surprising if they lift the EPL trophy in June.

However, Liverpool will be facing a tough test in the next two weeks as they will play against Chelsea in the EPL and also the Carabao league.

They will also face defending Champions, Man City then move on to face Italian side, Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool Fans Praise Summer Signing After 20-Minute Cameo

Liverpool fans were impressed with their summer signing Fabinho following his brief appearance during the Reds’ slim 1-0 victory over struggling Huddersfield Town at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Brazilian midfielder has struggled for playing time at Liverpool since his multi-million pounds move from French Ligue 1 giants during this summer’s transfer window.

He was an important member of the Monaco squad that won the 2016/17 league title which was a first crown in 17 years.

Fabinho also played a prominent role as Monaco reached the semifinal of the Champions League in that season before they were knocked out by Italian champions Juventus.

He made his first start for Liverpool during the 2-1 loss to Chelsea at home in the third round of the Carabao Cup as the Reds were eliminated in front of their home fans.

Liverpool fans were not impressed with his display during the game against Chelsea but that has changed after his cameo against Huddersfield Town.

He came on for England international midfielder Adam Lallana in the 69th minute and the Brazilian immediately brought stability and calmness to the Liverpool midfield.

Fabinho helped the Reds to preserve their lead for the rest of the game.

Liverpool had taken the lead in the first half through star forward Mohamed Salah off an assist from Swiss international star Xerdan Shaqiri.

It was the Egyptian international player’s first goal for the Reds in five games and it was enough to take a depleted Liverpool to the top of the table alongside leaders Manchester City.

Liverpool Fans Slam England Midfielder For Abject Display Against Huddersfield Town

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has battled with various injuries and fitness worries for the majority of the last two years at the club but that didn’t stop the Reds’ fans from turning on him for his display against Huddersfield Town.

The five-time European champions travelled to the John Smith Stadium to take on the Terriers in a Matchday 9 clash in the Premier League on Saturday evening and England international Lallana was given a rare league start for Liverpool.

It was his first Premier League start of the new season but it didn’t end well for him after Liverpool fans slammed him for his poor performance against Huddersfield Town especially on social media.

The former Southampton star played 69 minutes before he was replaced by Brazilian midfielder Fabinho, who joined the club from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco during the summer’s transfer window.

Before his exit from the game, Liverpool had taken a 1-0 lead courtesy star forward Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian international star found the back of the net with an excellent finish off an assist from summer signing Xerdan Shaqiri, who was in the Reds’ starting XI due to the thumb injury suffered by fellow forward Sadio Mane while on was on international duty with the Senegal national team.

Liverpool were not at their best against the Terriers but they were able to do the job with a 1-0 victory to end the recent run of four matches without win in all competitions.

The result took them to joint top on the table alongside league leaders Manchester City after 23 points from nine games.

Liverpool End Barren Run With Huddersfield Win

Liverpool have ended their barren run after they secured a slim 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town in a Premier League Matchday 9 clash at the John Smith Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Reds went into the Huddersfield Town game on the back of a four-match winless run.

The run began with a 2-1 home loss to title rivals Chelsea in the third round of the Carabao Cup and that led to their exit from the competition.

The defeat was immediately followed by a 1-1 draw with the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Substitute Daniel Sturridge came off the bench to score a late equaliser and rescue a point against Chelsea.

The Reds then lost 1-0 in their away Champions League clash with Italian Serie A side Napoli before the goalless draw with champions Manchester City in the Premier League before the international break.

The draw was earned after Manchester City forward Riyad Mahrez missed a late penalty to take all three points for the Citizens.

Ahead of the game, Klopp brought the trio of Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Xerdan Shaqiri into his starting lineup and it was the latter who produced the pass for the winning goal of the game.

The Swiss international star teed up Mohamed Salah to slot home in the 24th minute.

Huddersfield Town have not scored a home goal in the Premier League this season and once they fell behind to the Reds, it was difficult for them to find a route back to the game.

The Reds preserved that first half advantage from Salah to go level with champions Manchester City at the top of the league.
