Hazard Fails To Shine In Chelsea Win

Hazard Fails To Shine In Chelsea Win

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Was a real bystander in the opening half of the game but made a superb save early in the game to deny Stanislav Dragun from close range.

Emerson

Struggled to really make anything happen at all down the left flank with the addition of a couple of poor crosses in the first until he put a decent ball into the box and Olivier Giroud was there to head it home. A lot better in the second half and more precise with his play.

Gary Cahill

Did well defensively however but had a few struggling moments.

Andreas Christensen

Like Cahill, his passing out from the back wasn’t good enough but was defensively solid for most of the game

Davide Zappacosta

Saw a lot of the ball in the first half but did nothing with it. Didn’t really threaten down the right for the first half and didn’t take many risks.

Played one lovely pass to Eden Hazard in the second half that the Belgian couldn’t gather. Apart from that he influenced the game little.

Jorginho

Wasn’t his best game for the blues to the extent he was getting quite frustrated at times in the middle with the lack of space for him to work in, trying to force the passes for the Blues front men.

The tempo from him and the team was a little slow at times which made it more difficult for the Blues to break down BATE.

Ross Barkley

The Englishman’s performance wasn’t good enough for the headlines however he was neat and tidy on the ball when he kept it simple and had a few efforts on target from range.

This was a little step up from the Crystal Palace display, but didn’t really shine again.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

The player who had earlier got his place back in the England squad didn’t really celebrate that in style as he had a pretty poor night in midfield. Sloppy on the ball and not moving it quick enough, a vast difference from the hat-trick he scored against BATE last time.

Eden Hazard

The Chelsea fans were delighted to see him back on the pitch of play after a long spell out through injuries but it was a difficult night for him. BATE made it tough and gave him little space, while he just couldn’t make things really happen.

Pedro

Had a woeful performance, sometimes too slow when he had the ball, sloppy passes and misdirected shots were the summation of his performance tonight.

Olivier Giroud

Scored his first goal for Chelsea since May and 794 minutes of action, which means the Frenchman might just have opened his goal scoring account for the blues again. Not a bad overall performance by the former Arsenal man.

Willian (on for Hazard 62′)

Added some inspiration to the team.

Mateo Kovacic (on for Loftus-Cheek 64′)

Should have styed on the bench.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (on for Pedro 85′)

Not enough time to shine.

Liverpool Fans Demand Jadon Sancho Transfer

Liverpool fans have demanded for manager Jurgen Klopp to splash the cash on young Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho ahead of the January transfer window.

According to footballfancast, Liverpool fans were impressed with the 18-year-old after he made his full debut for England in the international friendly victory over the United States of America at the Wembley Stadium on Thursday night.

Jadon Sancho didn’t score but he provided an assist for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold to score the second goal for the Three Lions.

He was the best player on the pitch by a country mile as England defeated their opponents 3-0 courtesy goals from Manchester United star Jesse Lingard, the aforementioned Alexander-Arnold and Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.

Sancho had earlier made his England debut in October during the goalless draw with surprise World Cup finalists Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

The former Manchester City player recently signed a new contract with Borussia Dortmund but that has not stopped him from being linked with a transfer to several English sides with reports claiming that at least £100m will be required to sign him.

Premier League sides like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with the young forward.

Chelsea Set To Sign Liverpool Target From Dortmund

2012 Champions League winners Chelsea have reportedly won the battle to sign Liverpool target Christian Pulisic when the transfer window reopens in six weeks time.

Pulisic, 20, has been a long-term target of the Reds but it seems like they have been beaten to his signature by their Premier League title rivals Chelsea.

According to the report from trusted English media outlet Daily Mail, the Blues have won the keenly contested race to sign him ahead of both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

It was further claimed that Chelsea want to sign him in the January transfer window and that it could be a world record transfer for the United States of America international.

The Blues set a new record transfer fee in the summer when they paid Athletic Bilbao around £70m for Spanish international goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Christian Pulisic has not featured like he would have wanted this season in the colours of Borussia Dortmund and that’s partly due to the sensational form of England international forward Jadon Sancho.

The former Manchester City player has light up the German Bundesliga stadiums with his performances.

Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea were initially expected to do a deal for Pulisic in the summer but the Blues have decided to fast forward to January.

Christian Pulisic transfer fee at £70 million? – why Chelsea wants the deal in a hurry irrespective of the price

In the recent reports that have gone viral, Chelsea have been tipped to be the favorable side to land Borrusia Dortmund’s winger and America international, Christian Pulisic.

The 20-year-old star has also stated that he would love to play in the English Premier League with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also showing interest.

Christian Pulisic will not have trouble settling in England as he has once lived there.

The youngster is keen on leaving Germany despite the fact that his current contract will not lapse until 2020, he, however, wants to leave over limited playing chances.

According to a report, Christian Pulisic’s current contract has been fixed at £70 million, although the report hinted that it might drop.

But even if it doesn’t drop Chelsea are ready to make the payment and seal the move in the January transfer window.

The Blues are likely to overlook the huge sum of money because of the looming ban they could get for breaking FIFA, UEFA and EPL rules for signing minors.

Should Pulisic move to Stamford Bridge, he would not be a replacement but an addition and he is likely to be a backup player for Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian.
