Giroud Finds Scoring Boots Again

Giroud Finds Scoring Boots Again

Finally French international Olivier Giroud has ended his goal drought for Chelsea as his lone has cemented the Blues qualification to the second round of the UEFA Europa Cup on a very cold night in Belarus.

The player’s second-half header was enough to earn a 1-0 win and secure qualification for the Europa League knockout stages with two games to spare.

Chelseas coach Maurizio Sarri left several first team regulars in London, but included Jorginho from the off after Cesc Fabregas‘ late withdrawal with illness, while Eden Hazard started his first game since the draw with Manchester United on October 20.

It was also an exciting night for England internationals Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who were both named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad earlier in the day, and both did start together for Chelsea for the first time.

It was a woeful first-half showing from Chelsea, against a home side who showed they wanted it more than the visiting side in a showing better than their performance from the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge, when Ruben Loftus-Cheek had Chelsea 2-0 up after eight minutes.

Eventually, it was a simple delivery into the box that made the breakthrough shortly after the interval, as Emerson Palmieri crossed early for Giroud to head home his third goal in as many games against BATE, with question marks over the goalkeeping.

Chelsea will look to preserve their record as the only unbeaten team in Europe’s top five leagueswhen they visit Everton on Sunday.

Arsenal legend makes a shocking claim about Ruben Loftus-Cheek

According to the Gunners legend, Ray Parlour in a recent shocking statement, he made it known that Chelsea midfielder and England international, Ruben Loftus-Cheek could leave Stamford Bridge.

The report although shocking has been taken with a pinch of salt from Chelsea fans, this is because Ray Parlour has no past and current link with Blues.

But Ray Parlour went on to say that if Ruben Loftus-Cheek wants to leave Chelsea, the Blues cannot stand in his way.

Parlour said, ” ’m sure the club won’t stand in their way if they say: ‘Look, we need to go and play’.”

The former Arsenal player might only be taking a guess about the Blues midfielder.

With the way Loftus-Cheek is playing for Chelsea at the moment, the tendency of his departure temporarily or permanently is very low.

However, since interest matters a lot in football, the only situation that can make Chelsea consider signing out Ruben Loftus-Cheek to another club will likely be if they get an offer that will be very beneficial to them.

But for now, there is no link between Ruben Loftus-Cheek and any other club and the Blues doesn’t have any in mind.

Bayern Hand Man United Huge Boost In Pursuit Of James Rodriguez

Five-time European giants Manchester United have been handed a huge boost over their long-term transfer target ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to begin as from the 1st of January.

This is as a result of widespread media reports claiming that German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich won’t sign Colombian international playmaker James Rodriguez permanently at the end of his two-year loan deal with the club.

He was recently part of the Colombia squad that didn’t make it past the first knockout stage at this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

The South Americans were knocked out by England via penalties in the round of 16.

James Rodriguez is currently a Bayern Munich player after he signed for the five-time European champions on a two-year loan deal from European champions Real Madrid.

He had a very good first season and that prompted talks of a permanent deal to the Allianz Arena.

That has however changed in the new season after he fell out with Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac.

The former AS Monaco and FC Porto player has questioned his lack of game time with Bayern Munich since the Croatian tactician took over in the summer.

Liverpool Fans Demand Jadon Sancho Transfer

Liverpool fans have demanded for manager Jurgen Klopp to splash the cash on young Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho ahead of the January transfer window.

According to footballfancast, Liverpool fans were impressed with the 18-year-old after he made his full debut for England in the international friendly victory over the United States of America at the Wembley Stadium on Thursday night.

Jadon Sancho didn’t score but he provided an assist for Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold to score the second goal for the Three Lions.

He was the best player on the pitch by a country mile as England defeated their opponents 3-0 courtesy goals from Manchester United star Jesse Lingard, the aforementioned Alexander-Arnold and Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.

Sancho had earlier made his England debut in October during the goalless draw with surprise World Cup finalists Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

The former Manchester City player recently signed a new contract with Borussia Dortmund but that has not stopped him from being linked with a transfer to several English sides with reports claiming that at least £100m will be required to sign him.

Premier League sides like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with the young forward.
