UEL: Maurizio Sarri speaks on the dangerous pitch at NSC Olympic Stadium

The Blues will tonight play against Ukraine club, Dynamo Kiev at their home, NYS Olympic Stadium in the return leg of the Uefa Europa League.

Chelsea FC won the first leg of the match at Stamford Bridge with three goals from Pedro, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

They will hope to win again tonight but the Blues manager, Maurizio Sarri ahead of the match tonight has spoken on the dangerous pitch at NSC Olympic Stadium.

Chelsea were seen training at the Stadium in Ukraine and the muddy ground could be seen on an uneven surface, which could become even worse if it freezes in sub-zero Ukrainian temperatures.

“[It’s] a disaster,” Sarri told reporters. “The pitch is not good and I think that it’s really dangerous to play any football here. It’s really very dangerous for injuries.”

“I don’t know the reason, probably winter, because I played here two years ago and the pitch was wonderful [but it is now] very, very dangerous.”

The Blues manager also faulted UEFA for not paying attention to stadiums where matches are being played.

Premier League Target Doubtful For Champions League Clash vs Lyon

Barcelona have been dealt an injury blow following the news that forward Ousmane Dembele is a doubt for their Champions League clash with Lyon.

The Spanish champions host Lyon on Wednesday night and they might have to navigate the game without their French World Cup winner.

Dembele suffered a strain in his left hamstring during Barcelona’s win over Rayo Vallecano in their Spanish La Liga clash on Saturday night.

Barcelona confirmed his injury status via a club statement.

Dembele had come on as a second half substitute for Arthur during the Catalan giants’ 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano.

The 21-year-old has been enjoying the best spell of his Barcelona career after struggling in the early stages thus leading to transfer rumours about a move to Premier League sides like Arsenal.

North London giants Arsenal were linked with a loan transfer for the player towards the end of last year.

Barcelona had been level with lowly Rayo Vallecano when Dembele was introduced into the game and the French World Cup winner played a part to help the Catalans score two second half goals thus leading to a 3-1 win.

Rayo Vallecano took a shock lead in the 24th minute before Gerard Pique restored parity for Barcelona just before halftime.

Arsenal Legend Tips Aguero, Salah For Golden Boot Race

The race for the Golden Boot in the Premier League is between Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah according to Arsenal legend Robert Pires.

The former Arsenal midfielder talked about the Golden Boot Race in a chat with Bwin.

He effectively ruled out Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the race.

Harry Kane scored his 17th league goal of the season after he netted the opening goal during Spurs’ league meeting at Southampton.

His first half goal was not enough as the Saints came from a goal down to beat their guests 2-1 thus boosting their quest to escape relegation at the end of the season.

Jan Valery and James Ward-Prowse got the goals for Southampton in the second half.

Arsenal striker Aubameyang has scored 16 goals ahead of the Gunners’ home clash with Manchester United on Sunday evening.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero leads the goalscorers’ chart with 18 goals though he has not scored in the last two league games including the Watford game.

In the absence of a lethal Aguero against Watford, teammate Raheem Sterling staked a claim for the Golden Boot by netting a treble in the 3-1 home win over the Hornets.

Sterling has now scored 15 league goals for Manchester City this season.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has 17 goals ahead of Sunday’s home game against Burnley.

Chelsea vs Wolves: Paul Merson gives his prediction

The Blues will return to action tomorrow afternoon in the EPL as they host the Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will hope to win the match as it would help secure that move to the top four on the EPL table, which is their aim for this season.

The Blues will head to the match with full confidence after their victory over Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League.

They have also won their last two EPL matches vs Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.

However, the Blues will have to be worried because while they were playing in the Europa League during the week, the Wolves had a long week rest and would be fresher than Chelsea players.

Former Arsenal star, Paul Merson in a statement has given his prediction as to the outcome of the match.

Paul Merson in a statement on Sky Sport said, “It’ll be an interesting game. Chelsea will have played in the Europa League and compare that to Wolves, who will have had a week’s break. Chelsea need to win this for the top four, but if you’re not getting in there, you have to make sure you’ve got a nice buffer for the Europa League places and they need to keep in both at the moment.”

Chelsea should clear Maurizio Sarri’s future

Following the misunderstanding scene that took place last night between Maurizio Sarri and the Blues goalie, Kepa Arrizabalaga, which saw the latter refusing to be substituted after he suffered an injury against Man City, former football star, Michael Ballack has called on the Blued hierarchy to speak about Sarri’s future.

Michael Ballack in his statement made it known that the Blues hierarchy had to say something about what happened between Sarri and Kepa.

He noted that it is important for players to respect the coach.

“It’s a shame because they played a good game against a really strong team in a final, a special situation,” Ballack told talkSPORT.

“The players stood up, the last chance to win a trophy for Chelsea in a domestic cup [this season].

“They played well, they were focused and followed the instructions of the coach and it seemed like the plan went well until the end. They deserved something.

“It’s not a nice situation, but they have to sort it out with the club. The board have to say something because it’s really important that the players respect the coach, respect each other because something shouldn’t happen like that.”

Chelsea will return to action on Wednesday as they face Tottenham.
