How Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur to sign Christian Pulisc

Well, it look as though Liverpool and Chelsea were not the only English clubs that were interested in America international, Christian Pulisic.

According to former Hotspur coach, Harry Reknapp, he hinted that Mauricio Pochettino was also interested in the American star.

He added that Pulisic might actually be the only player Tottenham Hotspur had hope to add to their squad.

However, Chelsea FC went ahead to beat Tottenham and Liverpool in the race to sign the youngster by paying the sum of £58 million to Dortmund.

Redknapp stressed that Tottenham were beaten out of the race owing to the price offered by Chelsea.

And since they can no longer sign Pulisic, they might perhaps not sign a new player before the close of the transfer window.

The former Tottenham manager Redknapp in a statement with talkSPORT said:

“I’ve got a feeling, I don’t think they will.

“I heard they were interested in the boy who went to Chelsea [Pulisic]. He was on their radar but was too expensive.

“I think they will stick with what they’ve got.”

This will not be the first time Tottenham will not sign a player during the transfer window, they didn’t sign any during the last summer window.
