Arsenal Contract Rebel Strongly Linked With Italian Champions Juventus

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be on his way to Italy following reports that Serie A champions Juventus are keen on a move for the Gunners contract rebel.

According to a report via the Daily Mail, Italian giants Juventus want to secure a free transfer move for the Welsh international midfielder.

It was further stated that Juventus are willing to seal an agreement with him as early as the next transfer window scheduled to open in the New Year.

Ramsey has a less than a year left on his current contract at Arsenal meaning that he could start to talk to foreign clubs about a free transfer move as from the 1st of January.

His representatives and the North London club had initially been in contract talks for several months until Arsenal decided to withdraw their contract offer to the 27-year-old.

The club offered Aaron Ramsey the chance to double his weekly wages of £110,000 but the former Cardiff City star requested for a contract that will see him earn as much as Arsenal’s top earner.

Retired German international playmaker Mesut Ozil signed a new three-year deal in February to become the highest paid player in the history of the club on a reported salary of £350,000 per week.

Despite his much publicised contract situation at Arsenal, Aaron Ramsey has maintained a consistent high level of performance for the Gunners.

He was on target as a second half substitute as Arsenal thrashed Fulham 5-1 in a London Derby Premier League clash last weekend.

Arsenal Manager Reveals How He Almost Signed Striker At PSG

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that striker Alexandre Lacazette was a transfer target for French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) while he was their manager.

The Spanish tactician further stated that it was difficult for Lacazette to secure a move from Olympique Lyon to PSG.

Unai Emery spoke about the 27-year-old ahead of the Gunners’ upcoming Premier League clash at home to Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.

According to the former Sevilla and Valencia boss, it is historically difficult for a Lyon player to move to PSG and vice-versa.

Alexandre Lacazette sealed his transfer to Arsenal last summer after the North Londoners paid a then club record fee of around £46.5m to Lyon for his services.

He moved to Arsenal after his transfer to Spain with Atletico Madrid fell through.

The French international star started life with the Gunners like a house on fire netting in the opening minutes of his Arsenal debut against Leicester City on the opening day of last season’s Premier League campaign.

He went on to score eight goals in his first 15 games for the club and that preceded a wretched scoreless run of just one goal in 15 matches.

The poor run prompted the club to break their transfer record for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal paid £57m for the Gabonese striker who emerged as the first-choice striker ahead of Lacazette under former manager Arsene Wenger.

The advent of Unai Emery as the new Arsenal manager in the summer has led to the transformation of Lacazette as the Gunners’ first choice while Aubameyang has been forced to play on the left wing.

Arsenal Defender In Surprise Injury Return Ahead Of Leicester City Clash

Arsenal defender Sokratis Papasthathopoulos has surprisingly made a quicker than expected recovery for the Gunners ahead of their league game against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.

The 30-year-old was initially expected to sit out the game as a result of the ankle injury he sustained while he was with the Greek national team during the recently concluded international break.

As a result of the ankle problem, Sokratis was replaced by Georgios Tzavellas at the start of the second half in the 2-0 loss to Finland in what was a UEFA Nations League clash.

The scoreline was goalless before the former Borussia Dortmund centre back left the pitch but the Finnish team went on to score two second half goals to secure the three points at stake in front of their fans.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery spoke about Sokratis Papasthathopoulos and his ankle injury during his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon ahead of the Leicester City game.

The Spanish tactician revealed that he would be difficult for him to be fit for the game.

Sokratis, however, gave Arsenal fans something to shout about after stating that he has made a quicker than expected recovery from the ankle injury via his official Instagram account.

He’s expected to still play second fiddle to the centre back partnership of Rob Holding and German World Cup winner Shkrodan Mustafi despite his injury recovery.

The duo of Holding and Mustafi have started the last two league games for Arsenal with just one goal conceded.
